Universal Orlando: Hotels, Parks & Epic Universe

Universal Orlando has quietly become one of the biggest trips in Florida, especially now that Epic Universe, its brand-new third park, has opened. But the single most important decision is not which park, it is which hotel, because at Universal the right hotel can save you hours in line and hundreds of dollars.

The parks

  • Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, the original two parks, connected by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
  • Epic Universe, the spectacular new park with all-new worlds, the headline reason to go right now.
  • Volcano Bay, the tropical water theme park.

The hotel decision that changes everything

Universal’s top-tier Premier hotels (Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, Royal Pacific) include Universal Express Unlimited for your whole stay, which lets you skip the regular line on most attractions all day, as many times as you want. Bought separately, Express can run around $89 per person per day, so for a family it is worth hundreds. That single perk is why a Premier hotel often costs less overall than a cheaper hotel plus paid Express passes.

Why I book Portofino Bay

Here is the advisor math: booked through me as an affiliate of GSC World Travel, a Virtuoso member agency, Portofino Bay includes Express Unlimited and Virtuoso amenities, daily breakfast for two, a lunch credit, and a possible upgrade on arrival. On a two-night stay that is well over a hundred dollars in extra value, plus larger rooms, that you simply do not get booking the same hotel on your own or choosing a hotel without Express. I price it out both ways and show you the real difference.

Let me plan it

Tell me your dates, your party, and your must-dos, and I will match you to the right hotel and tickets, price the Express and Virtuoso value against the alternatives, and plan your park days, including Epic Universe. VIP recognition and perks come standard through Virtuoso.
