There are more than 25 hotels on Walt Disney World property, and the “best” one is simply the one that fits your family, your budget, and how you like to get to the parks. As your travel advisor I match you to the right one, but here is how I think about it, so you understand the trade-offs.
Disney sorts its resorts into three tiers, and picking your tier first makes everything else easier:
Room capacity is the detail most people miss. Standard rooms often sleep four, so a family of five or more needs a resort that sleeps six or more, or connecting rooms. Resorts that comfortably sleep larger groups include Disney’s Contemporary, Riviera, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs. I confirm exact capacity before I ever quote you a room.
Every Disney resort has free bus service to all four parks, so what really separates them is the extra transportation:
Beyond theming, on-property guests get the real planning advantages: you can book your dining reservations for your whole stay at the 60-day mark, and resort guests get earlier access to Lightning Lane passes. Those two head starts are worth more than most people realize when the hardest tables and top rides fill within minutes.
Tell me your party size, your budget, and whether you care most about location, pools, theming, or dining, and I will put you in the resort that fits, book it with any VIP recognition available, and plan the parks around it. Disney planning with me is full-service, as an affiliate of Glass Slipper Concierge.
